This antique decorated toleware box was made in the 19th century and belonged to my mother’s mother’s paternal uncle Robert F. Keith (1842–1919). It might have been a small deed box with the locking catch at the front. The dome top has its original ring handle and is outlined in a faint yellow line and has yellow plumes around the ring handle. The same yellow lines go around the base of the box. The decoration to the front is hand done and in good condition, There are scratches to the black surface of the box and the bottom that should be expected from an antique that is at least 125 years old.
